Interested in these puzzles? They are an excellent way to practice CLAIM + WARRANT in maths class. #talklessAM

Whet a thoughtful way to respect Ss and give them a little space if needed. (I also like that there is a limited quantity - so they can’t claim a bad day every day. If they try, get to know them better to uncover why!) https://t.co/ttV1R4yvO3

Yes! You can also set up a @Flipgrid for your new students. After meeting Ss the 1st day they went home & shared their name, interest,& hobbies. That way I can watch, watch & respond. I feel like I know them better. On the 2nd day of school it was easier to put a name w/ face.

Small change I am making on day 1 this school year: I usually call attendance and ask if I said students’ names right or if they have nicknames. This year, I am asking them to introduce themselves. Only took me 21 years to figure this out.
